Dermatology Physicians
M.D. and D.O. physicians are fully licensed medical practitioners who have completed at least 4 years of undergraduate education, 4 years of Medical School and 4-10 years of intensive residency training as well as Board Certification in their practice specialty. Continuing medical education is required to retain certification. The physicians are responsible for directing the patient care by all other providers and are available for assistance when necessary.
Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Physicians

Certified Physician Assistants (PA-C)
Physician Assistants / Physician Associates (PAs) are licensed clinicians who practice in every specialty. PAs work as a team with physicians and other healthcare providers. They are able to obtain histories, conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, perform procedures and prescribe medication. PAs are educated at the Masters degree level. They complete 4 years of undergraduate education and 3 years of Physician assistant training as well as 2,000 hours of clinical rotations. They are then trained by Physicians in a specialty. Continuing medical education is required to retain certification. The PA is an integral part of the healthcare team here at MMS.
Additional coursework may be completed by a PA to obtain a Doctorate of Medical Science (DMSc), which is the pinnacle of training for a PA.
Nurse Practitioners
Nurse practitioners (NPs) are licensed clinicians who practice medicine in every specialty. NPs work as a team with physicians and other healthcare providers. They are able to obtain histories, conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, perform procedures and prescribe medication. NPs are educated at the masters degree level, they obtain undergraduate degrees, go through nursing school, then complete another 2-4 years of clinical training. Continuing medical education is required to retain certification. The NP is an integral part of the healthcare team here at MMS.
Additional coursework may be completed by an NP to obtain a Doctorate in Nursing Practice, which is the pinnacle of training for an NP.
Audiologists
Audiologists specialize in identifying, assessing and managing disorders of hearing and balance. Audiologists complete 4 years of undergraduate education and 4 years of Audiology training at which time they are awarded the title of Doctorate of Audiology. Continuing education is required to retain certification. Audiologists are an integral part of the Ear, Nose and Throat team here at MMS. They conduct hearing tests and prescribe and fit for hearing aids, they work in collaboration with an MD or DO physician to formulate a comprehensive care plan that best suits the individual patient.
Aestheticians
Aestheticians are licensed professionals who have been trained to be able to assess their clients’ skin to identify issues and recommend cleaning and maintenance regimes based on the individual’s skin type and needs. Aestheticians perform many cosmetic procedures and techniques such as facials, chemical peels, hair removal, etc. With additional training, they are able to use lasers and photodynamic therapy to improve the health and function of the skin. Our Aestheticians can work with you and/or your Dermatologist to help create the optimal skin care routine.
