As a patient, it is your responsibility to understand your benefits and to know if your plan is contracted with our providers. Midwest Medical Specialists may not be at the highest benefit level or participate in every product offered from the health plans listed below. This list is not meant to be all-inclusive, and your specific plan may vary. We recommend contacting your insurance company and providing them with the name of your provider and our Tax ID number (48-1169310) for verification purposes.

MMS does not accept new patients with Medicaid primary plans (Kancare/KMAP, Aetna Better Health, Missouri Healthnet, UHC Community plan, Healthy Blue, Home State Health, Sunflower Health, etc.). We also cannot treat Medicaid patients as Self-Pay. Please contact your Medicaid plan to locate a provider that is accepting new patients.

If you are scheduled with us and your insurance is either inactive or out of network with our office, you will be considered a self-pay patient and must pay in full at the time of your visit. Please note that this does not apply to new Medicaid patients; they cannot be seen as self-pay and must seek care elsewhere.

If you are currently on a COBRA plan, on hospice care, or in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility, we highly appreciate notification prior to any scheduling/scheduled visits so that coverage can be confirmed.
